The Classic is making a stand for local barbershops with a new location on McCart Ave.

This summer, independently owned, local barbershops are back in Fort Worth in a major way. Leading the charge in the haircutting scene is The Classic, which recently expanded to two locations.

Fort Worth folks have been voting with their feet, filling chairs at The Classic Barber in droves for fresh fades, classic cuts, and hot towel shaves.

The Classic expands with a new location on McCart Avenue.

In addition to the Classic’s original location on 8th Avenue in downtown Fort Worth, founder George Burrola, aka George the Classic Barber, recently added a second location on the Southside at 5211 McCart Ave, right off I-20.

Why open a second location? We were booked up, and you needed cuts.

With the Classic’s original location often fully booked, it was clear there was demand in Fort Worth for another vintage barbershop hub. Our neighbors have been looking for a local, authentic connection, and we’re providing it.

Vianey Garcia runs a tight ship at The Classic, Southside.

Vianey has been practicing as a licensed barber for over a decade. She is joined on McCart Avenue by a team of barbers with decades of experience between them. That’s a local barbershop, people. It’s what Fort Worth needs more of.

One recent client said, “Got a great cut—clean, sharp, and exactly what I asked for. The shop has a really homey, welcoming vibe that makes you feel comfortable the whole time.”

Another client appreciated the family-friendly setup that the Classic has cultivated: “I’ve been bringing my son, who is 6 years old, to Vianey for 2 years now. She does AMAZING work…The new location is so nice!”

Nice work, Vianey. The same goes for the rest of the men and women, all local, who make The Classic, Southside a great place to get a cut.

Don’t forget our original location on 8th Avenue.

Helmed by the namesake George The Classic Barber, the 8th Avenue location has been around since 2019 and continues to thrive. It was named a finalist in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s “Best Barbershop” competition in 2022. The Classic continues to set the standard for grooming in Fort Worth. At our 8th Avenue shop, George leads a team of loyal, experienced barbers

Reviews for the original shop have been pretty stellar, with one write-up on Google noting that it’s “probably the best barber I have personally been to (certainly the best in Fort Worth), and a great price as well.”

Endorsed by Fort Worth’s MMA up-and-comer Steven “Rockafella” Orozco.

Word of mouth has caught the ears of local VIPs. Recently, professional MMA fighter Steven “Rockafella” Orozco sat in the chair at our 8th Avenue location. Orozco needed a new look before his highly anticipated fight at Fury FC 120 on May 31 in Houston, and he knew the Classic could deliver.

Fort Worth is booming for independent businesses.

The Classic’s success isn’t happening in a vacuum. It’s part of a larger trend that has seen old Fort Worth reassert itself while consumers reject cookie-cutter corporate imports.

A 2026 study by CoworkingCafe called “Rising Powerhouses: The Cities Making America’s Economic Future” named Fort Worth the #5 economic boomtown in the country. A big part of that growth has been from new businesses: In 2025, our city saw a 58% increase in new business applications.

The numbers continue to back up what many of us on the ground have already started to notice: a massive surge in independent businesses. Recent economic data from Bluevine shows a 28% year-over-year jump in independent business growth as Fort Worth residents look to skip corporate chains.

A local barbershop with local people protects the culture and delivers the best cuts.

A local barbershop is what the people of our city want, and they want it at an affordable price point. And that’s exactly where the Classic shines.

From the moment you walk through our door, you’ll be treated to friendly service that includes a free beverage while you wait for your turn in the chair.

Our two shops offer everything from a haircut to a classic shave, all the way up to “The Works,” the perfect service for when you want to treat yourself. True to its name, “The Works” includes a cut, personal styling consult, edge up, straight razor shave, splash of aftershave, oxygenated facial steam treatment, and finally, a peel-away charcoal mask.

Come to either location of The Classic.

Business at The Classic is thriving, and Fort Worth is taking notice. So whether you’re on the Southside or closer to Downtown, come by one of our two locations for a cut. Our barbers will work with you to deliver your haircut of choice.

Schedule a cut today, or drop by.

WE’RE EASY TO TALK TO.
