Here are five professional haircuts for men that actually look good.

Just because you work in a professional setting doesn’t mean your cut needs to suffer. We offer plenty of haircuts for professionals.

It’s true that you generally want a somewhat traditional cut for an office job. But professional doesn’t have to mean boring.

I’ll cut to the chase. These are the five cuts I think are best for the office:

  1. Classic taper
  2. Crew cut
  3. Ivy League
  4. Classic quiff
  5. Low fade

The idea, with these five, is to look squared away while showing your style.

Go for a low-maintenance cut.

When you’re rushing in the morning, you don’t want to spend a lot of time on your hair. I chose these five haircuts not only because they look nice and refined but because they’re easy to maintain.

Consider these five haircuts for professionals.

1. The Classic Taper

Timeless. Versatile. With the classic taper, the shorter sides gradually blend into a slightly longer top. This one’s also called the businessman’s haircut, which tells you all you need to know.

Go with a side part for extra-classic, or mix it up — your call.

2. Crew Cut

A crew cut is a short, minimalist haircut that’s uniformly short on the sides and back, with slightly longer hair on top. It’s got clean lines and is super easy to take care of.

It’s long enough that you have a few options for styling without too much hassle.

3. Ivy League

The Ivy League is like the crew cut, with some extra length on top. It’s almost always paired with a side part.

Perfect if you want to keep it short and clean but not too short, the Ivy League strikes a balance between professionalism and style. And all it needs to look good every morning is two minutes with pomade.

4. Classic Quiff

The quiff features long hair on top, especially up front, with trimmed hair at the back and sides. It’s like a pompadour but brushed forward instead of back.

The quiff requires more effort to tame than the others on this list. But it gives you options, and it looks great on a heart-shaped face.

5. Low Fade

A fade blends longer hair on top into short hair on the sides and back. If you have a good barber, the blend will be seamless. This variation starts just above the ears, so it’s a little less flashy than something like a high fade, making it a suitable haircut for professionals.

Fades work in the office.

I want to talk a little more about fades. Yes, they’re known as trendy, bold cuts, but don’t get the wrong idea: a fade can work in a white-collar setting so long as it’s kept on the safe side.

Try the low fade mentioned above or a subtle undercut to keep your look clean enough to not clash with your dress code.
